Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) is an irreplaceable multi-functional additive in modern detergent production. 1. What is HPMC?

HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) is a semi-synthetic cellulose ether, made by chemically modifying natural cellulose. In detergents, it primarily acts as a thickener, suspending agent, anti-deposition agent, and film-former.
